Welcome to the Troop 893 Website

Boy Scout Troop 893 is chartered by Centreville United Methodist Church (CUMC), 6400 Old Centreville Road. We meet on Tuesday’s at CUMC from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in full Class A uniform. Members of Troop 893 are given the user name and password for full access to the site. If you are interested in additional information about Troop 893, please contact Scoutmaster Shawn Morrow (shawnm@ieee.org).

We want to thank everyone for your interest and support for our annual "Totally Awesome Garage (TAG) Sale". Unfortunately, we will not be having the TAG sale this year. The current economic climate has made it impossible for us to procure a space for a May TAG sale. We cherish the tradition of the TAG sale and all of it's contributions to the the troop and community.

Kyle Talley's Eagle Project Part Two - April 5th

To complete Kyle's project, he will be leading us as we will plant roses in front of St. Andrews. Start time is 8:30 AM! Please bring any of these tools that you may have: round point shovels, buckets, rakes, wheelbarrows, and pitchforks.

Introduction to Troop Leadership Training – 5 April, 0830-1400.

All new leaders are expected to attend Troop Leadership Training which will be held on Saturday, April 5th from 0830 to 1400 at Mr. Brian Schultz's residence. (Agenda and directions will be forthcoming.) See last weeks Troop News for the new leadership roster.

Volunteers needed Easter Sunday at CUMC to assist in parking

Troop Meeting: 1 April, Spring Court of Honor Uniform is Class A with Sash (if you have MB's sewn on.)

A. The Troop 893 Spring Court of Honor will be held at Centreville United Methodist Church in the Sanctuary, starting at 7 pm. All Troop 893 scouts, families, and friends are invited and encouraged to attend. Scouts will be receiving Merit Badges, Rank Cards and other recognitions that they #worked hard# to earn over the past 6 months. We will also recognize the youth leadership for the past six months and install the new leadership team.

Merit Badge University

A. Merit Badge University (MBU) starts next Sunday! MBU is an annual event that provides scouts the opportunity to work on many Eagle required merit badges that are not normally offered at scout camp. There are also a few other MB's offered based on the unique expertise of adults in our Troop. Scouts should plan to attend all three Sundays.
